30 degrees and buying cashmere.

I have been getting pretty disgruntled in this humid weather. I don't do hot. At least, not unless I can recline on a sun lounger with earplugs and a G&T, which sadly is not an option most days.

As if to will the autumnal days into existence, I went cashmere shopping. And if I wasn't disgruntled before trying on cashmere in a very hot, stuffy and smelly changing room - sort them out M&S - I certainly was afterwards.

However, in mitigation, the 'M&S Collection' (whatever new marketing ploy that might be) long cashmere v neck sweaters / tunics are lovely. Just what I was looking for. I bought the navy version. I need a navy long tunic, I really do, I literally live in a variation of it each autumn / winter and navy is such an investment colour. (Then again, so is beige...sigh. )

Looking at my changing room shots (as ever) however, I think the beige might have been might a better fit and perhaps even a better colour...(drat) so I will weigh up the pros and cons within the 28 day return limit and no doubt regale you with my indecisiveness in due course.

If only I could work out how to get this 'My fitness pal' app everyone keeps raving about onto my phone and manage to look slightly less rotund, the navy would fit equally well. I've just eaten too much pizza been lazy and have at least half a stone to lose (and keep off this time!)

    1. Thanks! I do like the beige - it's maddening how things can look ok in a mirror and different when you look at the photo. Think I am going to try on, (ignore changing room mirror) take photos, have coffee, look at photos and THEN buy in future! :-)

  2. Is the beige bigger.....it definitely looks a better fit and as Poppy has said, it suits your hair and colouring.

    1. No they were both the same size, the navy felt / looked better in real life (or so I thought) - which is why I got that one - but it's so strange how things can look so different when you analyse the photos!! Thanks for your vote for the beige :-)

  3. I think it's a little hard to judge going by the pics. Because you have a dark top between you and the beige, this helps break up the solid colour and makes the beige one stand out more and being lighter, it makes it much easier to see the detail. You seem to be veering towards this one and I guess you will be wearing with a scarf which will help break up the colour between skin and jumper so you will replicate this effect anyway. The navy however is quite difficult to make out the detail but I would say it's more flattering because it's slimmer. I guess - whichever makes you more comfortable and how you prefer to wear? I personally like loose fit stuff so I would buy that regardless of how much better something slimmer looks better on me because comfort is my number one. Not comfy - won't wear it. But that's just me. So not helpful am I?

    1. They were both labelled the same size and were exactly the same style - just different coloured versions - odd that they both look so different isn't it?! I think I am veering towards beige, and yes for me looser fit = more comfortable which is always a must.

  4. Keep the navy. I notice you as a whole, nice blond hair, nice features. I think the beige doesn't do the same for you and it looks sort of sloppy.

  5. I think it's a great idea to start the cashmere shopping early, you never know when it might be a cool day even in the summer (it's raining now). Good job on the navy, really like that colour, gives a really nice contrast with your hair, and that would have been my choice too!
