Stripes and No 19

A couple of therapeutic purchases.

One was 'considered':  I'd tested Chanel no 19 Poudre a few months ago and kept coming back to it.

I love Chanel no 19 anyway, and this I think this version is even better than the original, in the Eau de Parfum concentration anyway.

Since I had a £5 off voucher and a double points voucher from Boots, now seemed the perfect time for a purchase.

The other buy was an impulse one! While wandering around John Lewis, I had a browse through the dregs of the clearance rail, and immediately spotted this little striped Jigsaw top in amidst a sea of nondescript florals.  I've been wearing a lot of stripes recently and feel good in them, so although an impulse buy, a good one I hope...!

Yippee - an outside picture!  Excuse the heavy little person cropping outage.
Skirt: Tesco (last year)
Shoes: Converse (available from John Lewis)
Gold overlapping leaves necklace: SchoolGateStyle shop
Sunglasses: Oscar de la Renta from TK Maxx

Oh, and by the way, I tried on the Jigsaw pleated skirt from my last post.

It was £125.
It was 100% polyester.
It was vile.

Problem solved :-)

  1. Love the new top, that Breton top and Converse look is another look that I always think is worn by people who are warm and optimistic, it kind of says, I like fashion, I make an effort, but I can do other things too!

    1. Thanks, it was an accidental thing really as my normal flats pinched my feet the other day, but I do think the converse actually work better... so a happy accident :-)

  2. What a gorgeous colour. You can never go wrong with Chanel perfume. I always think it such a treat when I get a Chanel item - I cherish it!! I have some face powder which I love. You look lovely .

  3. Oh I have worn coco mademoiselle for last few years but 19 was my 1st love and I think when the coco runs out I will be replacing it with 19. Great look on you the top, skirt & converse. X

    1. Coco Mademoiselle is lovely too - and the original Coco... and the new Coco Noir is quite interesting...! So many choices - but no 19 wins - it is my 'happy' smell :-)

  4. Ooh, lovely colour for the top. And a nice change from the usual offerings. The only Chanel perfume I've had or worn is Chanel No.5. I no longer wear it but I still have the soap, bubble bath and body lotion. After all that lot, I don't need perfume!

And isn't it great when you've scratched an itch and you come away so much better off. The skirt was not meant to be. So what are you going to buy instead?

    1. Sue you are spot on - it was an itch that needed scratching, but I saved £125. It looked great on the mannequin but just looked wrong on me.

I have already bought the 'something else'...I still had a black skirt shaped hole in my (ahem - 10 or so item) wardrobe - as I've been wearing an ancient M&S circle jersey skirt - not as gross as it sounds) - so I got a straight black Whistles one - separate post coming up :-)

    1. Thank you - yes it was a lucky find :-) It was the only thing which caught my eye - the rest of the sales stuff all looked very 'sad'!
